Quick Verdict
A 3-5% UPI cashback card for Kredit.Pe app users, lifetime free, with earnings locked to a closed in-app redemption catalogue.
Who Should Get This Card
A reader who routes a meaningful share of daily spend through UPI scan-and-pay at offline merchants and is comfortable running all UPI payments through one dedicated app will find real value here. The fit is strongest at Rs 25,000 or more of monthly UPI merchant spend, the point where the milestone tier kicks in and the effective rate reaches 5%. A reader whose UPI flow is dominated by rent, insurance, utility bills, or government services will find most of it excluded from cashback. The card is also off-limits for anyone who already holds a Yes Bank credit card, and current approvals skew toward salaried applicants with Rs 6 lakh or more in annual income.
Rewards and Cashback in Detail
The card earns on two separate tracks. Through the Kredit.Pe app's UPI handle, it pays 3% cashback on all UPI merchant transactions with no monthly ceiling. Once cumulative monthly UPI spend via Kredit.Pe crosses Rs 25,000, the rate steps to 5% for the balance of that billing cycle. This is a milestone threshold, not a per-transaction rate change. A reader spending Rs 30,000 a month through Kredit.Pe UPI earns 3% on the first Rs 25,000 (Rs 750) and 5% on the remaining Rs 5,000 (Rs 250), producing Rs 1,000 total at a blended 3.33%. Cashback is credited directly to the Kredit.Pe wallet in rupees.
The critical constraint: the 3-5% cashback applies only when using the Kredit.Pe app's UPI handle. Linking the card to PhonePe, Google Pay, or BHIM earns only the standard Yes Rewardz points, not cashback. For readers whose UPI is spread across multiple apps, this card works only for the share routed through Kredit.Pe specifically.
Outside the Kredit.Pe UPI channel, the card runs on Yes Rewardz points. Online non-UPI transactions earn 8 points per Rs 200 (1% effective at Rs 0.25 per point). Offline non-UPI transactions earn 4 points per Rs 200 (0.5%). Select categories such as fuel, insurance, rent, and government payments earn only 2 points per Rs 200 or nothing, depending on the category. These rates are below the floor set by dedicated cashback cards at any fee level.
The welcome benefit is Rs 1,000 cashback to the Kredit.Pe wallet on activation, with no minimum spend threshold beyond completing the first UPI transaction.
Yes Rewardz points on online and offline non-UPI spend redeem through the Yes Bank rewards portal against flight bookings, merchandise, and statement credit. The point redemption rate is Rs 0.25 each, making the travel redemption path roughly equivalent to the statement credit route. Points do not transfer to airline miles and carry no expiry risk for active cardholders, but neither do they compound in any meaningful way at the 4 and 8-per-Rs-200 earning rates on non-UPI spend.
| Category | Cashback Rate | Cap / Details |
|---|---|---|
| upi kredit pe | 3% | 3% cashback on all UPI merchant transactions via the Kredit.Pe app (no monthly cap) |
| upi kredit pe milestone | 5% | 5% cashback on UPI transactions after monthly UPI spend via Kredit.Pe crosses Rs 25,000 |
| online shopping | 8X | 8 Yes Rewardz points per Rs 200 on online transactions (1% effective at Rs 0.25 per point) |
What Does It Actually Cost
Joining fee and annual fee are both zero. No spend condition applies; the card is lifetime free in the structural sense, not conditionally waived. One third-party source noted a Rs 499 joining fee with a 30-day spend waiver, likely reflecting an earlier programme variant. The kredit.pe product page and multiple 2026 reviews confirm a nil fee structure, and this aligns with the LTF description in the card's current marketing.
Card economics outside the UPI cashback channel are unimpressive. The 1% effective return on online non-UPI spend and 0.5% on offline spend are below what dedicated cashback cards in this segment offer at similar or zero fee. The card's value case rests on the UPI cashback being large enough relative to holding a dedicated UPI card.
Redemption is the real cost to factor in. Kredit.Pe wallet balances redeem within the app against digital gold, shopping vouchers, bill payments, and mobile recharges. There is no option to transfer wallet balance to a bank account or apply it as a statement credit. Readers who cannot find a regular redemption use inside that catalogue will accumulate wallet balance that effectively depreciates. A reader who buys digital gold or pays bills through the Kredit.Pe app regularly is insulated from this cost; everyone else pays it in reduced realised value.
The fuel surcharge waiver at 1% applies to transactions at fuel stations but does not count toward cashback or reward points. For a reader filling a tank worth Rs 3,000 once a month, the waiver saves Rs 30. Useful, but not material enough to factor into the primary decision.
| Joining Fee | FREE |
| Annual Fee | FREE |
Pros
- Lifetime free with no spend gate, zero joining fee, zero annual fee, no renewal target to chase
- 3% cashback on Kredit.Pe UPI has no monthly cap, which is uncommon in UPI-linked reward programmes that typically cap earnings below Rs 500 a month
- Rs 1,000 welcome cashback is unconditional beyond the first UPI transaction, making year-one cost clearly positive
Cons
- Cashback only works via the Kredit.Pe UPI handle, linking the card to PhonePe, Google Pay, or other UPI apps earns standard Yes Rewardz points, not the 3-5% cashback
- Kredit.Pe wallet is not convertible to statement credit or bank transfer; redemption is confined to digital gold, vouchers, bill payments, and recharges inside the app
- Existing Yes Bank credit card holders cannot apply, this is a new-customer-only programme with no upgrade or conversion path
- Online and offline non-UPI reward rates (1% and 0.5% effective) are below the benchmark for a dedicated everyday card
- Eligibility currently skewed toward salaried applicants; self-employed approval is inconsistent and income threshold of Rs 6 lakh filters out early-career applicants
Our Verdict
The Kredit.Pe Yes Bank ACE card has a clear pitch: if UPI is your dominant spend channel and you are willing to route it through one app, 3-5% cashback with no monthly cap is a credible headline. Nothing about the earn rate is padded by a fee structure or hidden by a spend threshold. Holding cost is zero.
Ecosystem lock-in is where the card earns or loses its case. Every rupee of cashback earned lives in the Kredit.Pe wallet until it is spent on digital gold, a shopping voucher, a recharge, or a bill payment inside the app. For a reader who already uses the Kredit.Pe app for these purposes, the cashback flows naturally into their existing behaviour. For a reader who wants cashback they can apply to any spend, this card does not deliver that.
Two structural constraints matter for readers considering an application. The first is the UPI-app specificity: 3% accrues only via Kredit.Pe's UPI handle, so readers who split UPI across multiple apps should calculate what share they can realistically route through one app before applying. The second is the new-customer restriction: the programme is closed to existing Yes Bank credit card holders, which makes it a non-option for a meaningful portion of the audience considering a Yes Bank product.
Net position: a useful secondary card for UPI-heavy spenders who can commit their scan-and-pay flow to the Kredit.Pe channel and have a steady redemption use within the app. Not a primary card, and not the right card for readers whose spend is offline-non-UPI, rent-dominated, or utility-heavy.
