Fifteen thousand rupees off an Apple purchase is the kind of number that reads like clickbait. In this case, it is not. American Express is running an instant cashback offer on Apple products through the end of August, taken off automatically at checkout, no code and no enrolment required. It shows up on four of Amex's India cards, including both the cards PickMyCard tracks, and the window is shorter than most Amex campaigns get.
The mechanics, without the marketing
Buy an eligible Apple product with an American Express Card, online at apple.com/in or at an Apple Store India location, and Amex discounts the transaction by up to ₹15,000 before the charge settles. There is nothing to activate ahead of time: entering or tapping the card at checkout is the entire redemption. Two orders are allowed per rolling 90-day period, counted separately for online and in-store purchases, so a cardmember who buys an iPhone in July and a MacBook in September is well inside the limit.
The offer window is 16 July through 31 August 2026, both dates included. Amex is running this as a retail promotion rather than a permanent card benefit, which matters for one reason: it can end or change without the notice a permanent benefit would get, and the eligible product list sits on Apple's own site rather than Amex's, so it can move during the window too.
Four cards, one identical offer
PickMyCard checked each card's own Amex offers page directly rather than trusting the generic offer hub, and found the same ₹15,000 cap and the same dates live on the Platinum Reserve Card, the Platinum Charge Card, the Platinum Travel Card, and the Gold Card. Supplementary cards on an eligible account are included, and the discount works on EMI transactions too.
Corporate Cards and Network Cards, the co-branded plastic that carries the Amex badge through a bank partner rather than an Amex-issued account, generally sit outside offers built for Amex's own consumer card line. Anyone holding a co-branded Amex should confirm their specific card's offers page rather than assume this one applies.
Running the numbers against an Apple purchase
Set the discount against what these two cards already do at Apple, and the picture gets more interesting than "free ₹15,000."
The Platinum Charge Card earns Membership Rewards points through its Reward Multiplier portal at partner brands, Apple included, at an accelerated rate on top of its base earn. The Platinum Reserve Card carries the same Apple listing on its own Reward Multiplier portal at a lower multiplier. Neither card's terms say whether that points accrual applies to the discounted amount or the pre-discount price, and Amex's cashback terms are silent on the interaction, so the honest position is that a cardmember gets at minimum the ₹15,000 off, and possibly the usual points on top. Confirming which one requires checking the actual statement line after a purchase, not the marketing copy on either offer page.
Against a comparable no-fee card, ₹15,000 off an iPhone or iPad is close to the entire markup a typical cashback card would return over a year, in a single transaction. Against the Platinum Charge Card's own ₹66,000 annual fee, an ₹15,000 discount on a purchase someone was already planning covers a meaningful share of that fee in one move, which is a different argument than most retail offers can make.
Where the offer has limits
A handful of details are easy to miss reading only the headline number. The cap applies per order, not per year, but the two-orders-per-90-days limit means a cardmember cannot split one large purchase into several smaller transactions to multiply the discount. Education Store purchases and corporate employee-purchase-programme buys are excluded on at least one of the card pages checked. Amex's terms also state the discount cannot be combined with other merchant-side offers running through Apple at the same time, so a separate Apple promotion during the same window would not stack on top of this one.
The eligible product list lives on Apple's website, not Amex's, and both companies reserve the right to change it without notice. Anyone planning a purchase near the value ceiling should check the current eligible-products list on the day of purchase, not from a screenshot taken earlier in the offer window.
How to claim it
Nothing to enrol in and nothing to activate. Add an eligible Apple product to the cart, online or in store, pay with an eligible American Express Card, and the discount lands on the receipt. The only real decision is timing: for a cardmember already planning an Apple purchase this month, using this card for it is close to free money. For a cardmember only considering an Amex application to catch this specific offer, the card's own economics should carry the decision, not a one-time saving that cannot on its own justify a ₹10,000 or ₹66,000 annual fee. The offer is a reason to use a card someone already holds, not a reason to open one.

Frequently asked
What is the Amex Apple cashback offer and when does it end?
American Express India is running an instant cashback offer on Apple products: up to ₹15,000 off, applied automatically at checkout when paying with an eligible American Express Card. The offer runs 16 July through 31 August 2026, both dates included, across apple.com/in and Apple Store India locations.
Which American Express cards qualify for the Apple cashback?
PickMyCard confirmed the offer live on the American Express Platinum Card, Platinum Reserve Card, Platinum Travel Card, and Gold Card as of 13 August 2026, each showing the same ₹15,000 cap and the same 16 July to 31 August window on its own Amex offers page. Corporate and Network (co-branded) Amex cards are typically excluded from retail offers of this kind; a cardmember on one of those should check their own account before assuming eligibility.
Does the Apple cashback stack with Amex Reward Multiplier points?
Unconfirmed either way. Amex's Reward Multiplier portal already accelerates Membership Rewards earn on Apple purchases for both the Platinum Reserve and Platinum Charge cards, and the Apple cashback is a separate, automatic discount rather than a bonus-points campaign, so there is no obvious reason the two would conflict. But Amex's own terms only say the cashback cannot be combined with other merchant offers, and do not address the card's own reward-earn programme either way. Check the Membership Rewards line on the post-purchase statement rather than assuming.
Is there a minimum spend, and can the discount be used online and in store?
Amex does not publish a minimum transaction value for this offer. It applies on both channels: apple.com/in online, and at Apple's physical stores in India. The cap is two orders per rolling 90-day period, tracked separately for online and in-store purchases, and the discount comes off automatically when the eligible Amex card is entered or tapped at checkout, no code or enrolment required.
What happens if the discount on my order is more than ₹15,000?
₹15,000 is a ceiling, not a percentage. A large enough Apple order (a top-spec MacBook Pro or several devices in one transaction) will not have all of its markup discounted; Amex covers up to ₹15,000 and the cardmember pays the rest. On a mid-range iPhone or iPad, the cashback is more likely to cover the bulk of what a comparable no-fee card would leave on the table.
